Kera grew up in the GTA with a passion for altruism and a strong work ethic and applies these aspects to her position. In 2018 she received her Bachelor of Arts Honours from the University of Guelph in Criminal Justice and Public Policy and later received her Canadian and American Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and Detroit Mercy respectively in 2022. During her time at law school, Kera volunteered at the William Booth Legal Aid Clinic assisting low-income families in the greater Detroit area with their family law matters.
In her second year of law school, Kera received the Social Justice Fellowship program grant. She applied for the Reclaim Pro-Bono project which specializes in legal research and advocacy of privacy rights for individuals affected by non-consensual intimate image distribution. Kera enjoys advocacy-based work and volunteers frequently within her community. She was a former Go Girls! Mentor with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peel. She also volunteers frequently with Life Lessonz Inc. which provides interactive and enriching programs for young adults with developmental and learning disabilities. When Kera isn’t working and volunteering she spends her time reading, hiking and playing with her cat Pickles.
